Our Hercules Library Volunteers Honored

The Hercules Library has been serving the community with the strong support of hundreds of volunteers. The library staff is proud of the community support and patronage and its many volunteers without whose dedicated service, the library would not be nearly as successful as it is today.

To honor our library volunteers, we held a library Volunteer Reception on Thursday, April 19th, 2012.  There was lots of good food, games, door prizes and deep appreciation for a job well done!

Volunteers are crucial to our success.....here are some impressive achievements

145 Volunteers donated 5,410 hours working in the Library, which is valued at $126,702

The Friends of the Hercules Library donated $14,000 for library materials and $5,119 for library programs.

The Hercules Emergency Library Project group of volunteers successfully raised $50,087 to keep the Library open 40 hours each week!

Because the library's operating budget does not cover any of the costs of this type of activity, the Foundation and local businesses took pride and pleasure in contributing funds, products, gift cards, and food items needed for this event.  Our thanks again for their generous donations!
